Kitakou -> At the beginning of Hetalia, I used
analog, pen, erasers and scanners.
->Then I used Photoshop for finishing touches.
The recent ongoing series are mostly done by using Photoshop.
For the manga that are being upload to the site,
I use mechanical pencil to draw them on copy papers and also my own computer.
Also, I like Rocket Pencil. lol [T/N: Google ロケット鉛筆 and check out the images]
If the copy papers keep piling up, they’d become like corrugated cardboard!

・Traditional Japanese folding fan
It has rich ethnic sense and it’s easy to be carried and can be easily presented.
・Japanese style calendar
At least those with recognisable kanji as the days of the week.
Not only it has practical usage, the kanji also looks cool.
I recommend it because it’s thin hence it’s easy to bring over.
Novelty
・Hanafuda
It’d be good enought for people who study/like arts.
・Temari candy (key chain sort of accessories?)
Not only do they look exotic in foreigners’s eyes,
they’d be well received for the cute and colourful, yet rich in Japanese style kind of appearance.
It’s good for decorations.
The only disadvantage is that it is fragile.
For the Chinese, they’d be happy to receive chocolate candies.
It is possible, too, that you’ve been told that South America and Middle Eastern folks prefer stuff that are not too sweet…

I would recommend simple kimono!
You can find these easily wearable kimono being sold on the internet
and they have beautiful patterns so they’d probably make a good present.
