If you’re new to horror movies, I’d recommend foreign ones like The Roommate, the remake version of Carrie, The Exorcist, The Mist or The Fog. Or if you prefer zombies, try Dawn of the Dead. As for loop-typed movies, Repeaters and Haunter were interesting too.
Also movies like The Mad are so overdone that they are cute. Zombies appear but everybody is completely laid-back about it. I adore the ending of The Human Race. The Hill is one big explosion of the director’s interest, I really liked the ending of that one too! Russian self-torture zombie movie Zombie Fever was great as well! That’s the fighting style of Russian grandpas!
※I can’t really say that the second half of the recommended movies is suitable for beginners.
