{"id":4710,"date":"2018-10-22T22:28:24","date_gmt":"2018-10-23T03:28:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.hetarchive.net\/blog\/?p=4710"},"modified":"2018-12-04T20:10:19","modified_gmt":"2018-12-05T01:10:19","slug":"hetare-5-lietuvis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.hetarchive.net\/blog\/2018\/10\/22\/hetare-5-lietuvis\/","title":{"rendered":"Hetare 5: Lietuvis!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hetarchive.net\/scanlations\/mainstory\/7-hetare5\/lie0.jpg\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\"><br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hetarchive.net\/scanlations\/mainstory\/7-hetare5\/lie02.gif\" width=\"560\" height=\"155\"><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hetarchive.net\/scanlations\/mainstory\/7-hetare5\/lie1.gif\"><\/p>\n<p>During WWII, some soldiers in the American forces got too spirited<br \/>\nupon getting ice cream that they ended up<br \/>\nbreaking their bones and had to be shipped home.<\/p>\n<p>And, now that I think of it, it seems that American<br \/>\nbattleships were fitted with ice-cream machines.<br \/>\nDoesn\u2019t that sound like somebody else we know?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hetarchive.net\/scanlations\/mainstory\/7-hetare5\/motemo.gif\"><\/p>\n<p>BTW \u2013 during the war, the American soldiers stationed in Britain<br \/>\nseemed to have been smash hits with the local lasses.<br \/>\nOf course, they were cool and cheerful and hunky and all that,<br \/>\nbut the thing was\u2014they were rich.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, Britain was virtually broke\u2014townsfolk couldn\u2019t get<br \/>\ntheir hands on winter stockings, let alone candies.<br \/>\nBut here came the American troops who, not suffering greatly from<br \/>\nfood or supply shortages, gave whatever they got to the local girls.<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, they became the next Joe Sexy.<\/p>\n<p>Since it was allegedly pretty easy, there came a parade of American<br \/>\nsoldiers who worked soulfully to get girls via chocolate or stockings.<br \/>\nApparently, an order from the British side to \u2018keep your<br \/>\nsupplies to yourself and family!\u2019 came out rather fast.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hetarchive.net\/scanlations\/mainstory\/7-hetare5\/lie2.gif\"><\/p>\n<p><small>[T\/N: Minami-Centrair \u2013 an attempted 2005 merger between the Mihama and<br \/>\nMinamichita townships in the Aichi prefecture. Apparently furor after the name<br \/>\n(which was shoehorned in by the town council) caused the merger to stall, though<br \/>\nI don\u2019t know any more details. The name Minami-Centrair came from the nearby airport.]<\/small><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hetarchive.net\/scanlations\/mainstory\/7-hetare5\/lie33.gif\"><\/p>\n<p>The country that grew most peevish at Germany and<br \/>\nRussia\u2019s increasingly good relations was Japan.<br \/>\nDeclaring that \u2018the ways of the West are too inscrutable!\u2019,<br \/>\nthe entire Japanese cabinet resigned.<\/p>\n<p>To the \u201cWhy did they resign over that!?\u201d Europeans,<br \/>\nhowever, Japan\u2019s actions were the most inscrutable of all\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hetarchive.net\/scanlations\/mainstory\/7-hetare5\/lie31.gif\"><br \/>\nRussia and Japan in the Russo-Japanese War.<\/p>\n<p>Although Japan made its name known to the world<br \/>\nby crushing Russia in this conflict,<br \/>\nJapan had fought with everything it had.<br \/>\nIn contrast, Russia had only brought out its regional troops<br \/>\nand still had oh so much resources to spare.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hetarchive.net\/scanlations\/mainstory\/7-hetare5\/lie32.gif\"><br \/>\nThanks to this quarrel with Russia,<br \/>\nJapan used up five years\u2019 worth of living expenses.<br \/>\nFight on, Japan, fight.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hetarchive.net\/scanlations\/mainstory\/7-hetare5\/lie3.gif\"><br \/>\nThe favourite war trophy among Russian troops appears to be the common water faucet.<br \/>\n\u201cAwesome!
