I’ll draw sketches of them and memorize them visually.”

And so, a book on countries called “All kinds of countries in the world” was created, which contained illustrations on countries from all over the world, including each country’s culture, lifestyle, peoples and their personalities.
It’s truly a masterpiece of the gathering of peoples from all over the world.
If you look closely, there’s also stories of fairies and mythology of each country mixed in, so it’s cute.

>Were there female emperors in Ancient Rome? I can only think of male emperors…

Officially there were no female rulers of Rome, but there was once a Grandma Julia Maesa and her daughters who made two young males their puppet emperors and held real power, so I guess you can call them female emperors.

In order to seize power, they used and disposed of Heliogabalus (age 14~18) and made his cousin, Alexander (age 14) a puppet emperor.
It was fine while they were grooming him as an emperor, but he was a surprisingly decent guy, and after he grew up he tried to exercise his own power with the aid of those around him, and that’s when trouble started.
The ladies were all “this is not good! We’re not giving away our power to anyone!”
So they made secret plans here and there, and started getting rid of Alexander’s supporters and intellectuals.

Alexander did his best, but his supporters were no longer around, and due to a combination of timing, bad luck, and humanity, a rebellion started.

If they had only known, they would’ve made Heliogabalus, who was involved in lots of scandals and didn’t quite bother with politics, the emperor instead….

The era of the empresses was at the expense of the two young boys, and it also marked the beginning of the Barracks Emperors era that would eventually shake the foundation of Rome.

>For the Roman Emperors, which ones are their first names and which ones are their last? Also, which part do we use when we shorten their names?
E.g. Decimus Caelius Calvinus Balbinus→ Balbinus
Marcus Clodius Pupienus Maximus→ Pupienus

From back in those days, it’s either what’s easy to pronounce, or a nickname!

Some examples of nicknames include Heliogabalus (that guy with the weird pagan gods), Caligula (little military boots), Arabs (The Arab), so they can be pretty random.

>I thought of this while reading the stories about the emperors, but are there other stories about great historical figures besides the emperors? I was wondering so I asked, but if there are other stories about famous historical figures, I’m interested in knowing about Japan’s.

I personally like the Impressionists, so I hope I can write stories that connect them with France. It took a long time for them to be recognized in France, and it’s very hard for those individualistic painters to become famous while they’re alive, so I’m very glad it worked out.

I also really like the Grimm brothers.
I find it very cute that they would write each other letters telling the other how lonely they felt at being far apart, even if it was just for a little while. And also their process of gathering the Grimm’s fairy tales is cute, too!
I was surprised there were 3 brothers!!

For Japan it’d be Nikaido Moriyoshi, or the people of Fukushima prefecture, who are always the butt of jokes. Hyoe~!

[T/N: Nikaido Moriyoshi was a military commander during the Sengoku period (15th-16th century).
