\u3010Principality of Monaco\u3011<\/p>\n

Mini country that resides near the Italian border in France.
\nIt is the second smallest country in the world other than Self Proclaimed Nations.
\nYou can see the whole country if you climb a mountain.
\n1\/4 of it’s annual income is through tourism.
\nEven though it is tiny, it has its own language.
\nCasinos, ballet, and F1 are famous. They have really good public safety.<\/p>\n

<\/img><\/p>\n

Monaco is from ancient Greek word of “Monoikos (One house)”
\nIt used to be Greek territory, and was referred to as “House” of Hercules.
\nIt was called Hercules Monoikos Postes because of the large number of Hercules worshipers.<\/p>\n

<\/img><\/p>\n

The Grimaldi family of Italy’s Genova opened the current royal family.
\nIt was controlled by France later, but under the protection of Sardinia, gained independence from France as the Principality of Monaco.
\nCurrently, it is protected by France, and is reliant on it for diplomacy and military.<\/p>\n

\u3010National Flag\u3011
\n<\/img>
\nRed and white are the colors of the crest of the Grimaldi family.
\nIt is the opposite to Poland, and the same as Indonesia.
\nIndonesia’s red is the sun, and the white, the moon.
\nSymbol colors of Majapahit.<\/p>\n

Poland’s flag is from the military flag from “Schlacht bei Tannenberg” (because there was a white eagle drawn onto red).
\nRed represents the sunset, and the white, an eagle. Apparently it was different when the country was socialist. <\/p>\n

The reason why the flag is the same as Indonesia:
\nThey had a discussion, but decided to keep on using the identical flags after consensus of “There are valid histories behind both.”
\nYou can see the different from the fact that Monaco’s flag is closer to a square.<\/p>\n

\u3010People of Monaco\u3011<\/p>\n

Even though citizenship laws were loosened in 1992, the percentage of Monegasques make up only 16% of the population (was 19% in my book…it’s decreased…).
\n84% of the population has foreign citizenship, and half are French, and the next, Italians.<\/p>\n

To be a citizen of Monaco:
\n– Have a Monegasque mother or father
\n– Marry a Monegasque
\n– Become hired by a Monegasque and live in Monaco for 10 years<\/p>\n

To become a “pure” Monegasque citizen, it takes 3 or 5 generations.<\/p>\n

\u3010Monaco’s Currency\u3011<\/p>\n

It uses Euro like France right now, but they used to have Monegasque Franc.
\nBecause of the limited number, they are collector’s items. The designs are nice.<\/p>\n

\u3010Japanese Garden\u3011<\/p>\n

A Japanese garden suddenly appears a short walking distance from a famous casino.
\nIt is an authentic Japanese Garden, and was apparently constructed by employing a Japanese gardener.
\nIt is like a normal park, and you can go in as you like and enjoy.
\nThe Japanese that Monegasque probably wrote with a lot of effort is cute.<\/p>\n
